TASTING NOTES
Red wine with an intense ruby color. The aroma is fruity, revealing notes of cherry and blackberry, complemented by subtle spicy nuances from the oak. Very elegant. On the palate, it is full-bodied and intense, with well-integrated tannins. Long and persistent finish. Exceptionally elegant and balanced.
Food Pairing
Pairs well with red meat dishes. Roast lamb or kid, Portuguese stew. Soft cheeses.
Vineyards
This wine comes from vineyards planted in Quinta da Pacheca, Lamego, with 50 to 60 years old and from Vila Nova de Foz Côa with 25 years old.
Vinification
Destemming and crushing, fermentation in a granite lagars with periodic pumping over and délestage. Temperature-controlled fermentation at 24ºC, with inoculation of selected yeasts. Simultaneous alcoholic fermentation with co-inoculation of lactic acid bacteria.
Aging 12 months in used 300-liter French oak barrels.
